Founded in 1988 by his holiness patriarch GERMAN of blessed memory, and the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the seminary and school of theology opened its doors to students in 1988/89, following the approval by the State of Illinois’ Board of Higher Education. St. Sava’s has since educated and graduated almost two hundred students, most of whom became ordained clergy and serve today across the world: from Americas, across Europe, all the way to Australia.

The curriculum in our Bachelor of Divinity degree program is focused on providing you not simply with academic knowledge of theology and its disciplines, but with a lived experience of spiritual life in the old and beautiful Tradition of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
