Dear beloved faithful people, friends, supporters, and donors of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox School of Theology,
Peace of God - Christ is born!
“Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy... For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord“(Lk. 2, 10-11)
This is wonderful message of encouragement from the heavenly messenger to the shepherds of Bethlehem and our entire family about the birth of Christ. The joy of this unrepeatable event brings a great gift to all humanity, which is the secret of God's wisdom about the salvation of the world and man. The birth of Christ the Savior brings us salvation and the true meaning to our existence. Only if faith in Christ finds a place in our heart and becomes the center of our life, then we will be able to build a new world, in which peace, forgiveness, and love will shine.
During the Nativity season the Church conveys a message to us and reminds us that the birth of Christ is an expression of deep humility. Christ is born in a humble manger and is a sign of God's closeness to man and all our life's pains and joys. St. Sava Serbian Orthodox School of Theology sends you a message of love, reconciliation and hope for a better tomorrow because Christ came not only to teach, but also to show the way to the salvation of the world, man, and the whole creation. That's why we are all called to glorify God and extend a generous hand of reconciliation to those who need it on these joyful feast days. The glorification of God remains the only cause and source of peace on earth, which is sorely needed by all mankind. Two people filled with faith, love and understanding lead to peace on earth and testify that faith in Christ is a source of inexhaustible joy for every human being, for every person.
The feast of Nativity of Christ was and remains a feast day that reminds us of the time of giving, and our students and priests who graduated our School have always been a great example of Christian charity. Whether it is acts of almsgiving, caring for those who suffer, or guiding children and youth through life challenges, the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox School of Theology was, and will continue to be the fortress of preserving faith in a better tomorrow and the victory of joy over sadness. Therefore, in these joyful days of Christ's birth, we should prayerfully remember all those who are sick, grieving, and suffering all over the world, that God may grant them healing and comfort in true Christian love.
With these thoughts, we rejoice with all of you, and we hope that your goodness and donations to our St. Sava Serbian Orthodox School of Theology will be the perfect gifts of love and openness. You can send a monetary gift by mail (32377 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville, IL 60048) or make an electronic payment online at www.stsava.org.
Rejoicing with all of you in this holiday season, we celebrate the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and we extend to you the happiest greeting: God’s Peace – Christ is Born! May you have a happy and blessed New Year of 2024!
